Return to Castle Wolfenstein in the browser
The source reply’s RTCW link leads to rtcw.pieter.com, which runs the real iortcw multiplayer engine compiled to WebAssembly. Plan for a large first download before you commit to a session.

About 380 MB before the first menu.
The page warns that the first load downloads roughly 380 MB of game data, cached afterwards. Desktop Chrome is the recommended browser. We did not measure the transfer ourselves.

What the page documents
- The engineThe host identifies iortcw — the long-running RTCW multiplayer engine — compiled to WebAssembly, on a non-commercial preservation host.
- Multiplayer mapsThe entry shows mp_beach, the classic beach-assault map. A campaign mode is not part of what the page documents.
- LeaderboardsPublic top-player boards with 24-hour and all-time views imply an active server, but population at any moment is not guaranteed.
Prepare your first visit
- Use the recommended browserThe host names desktop Chrome. An out-of-date or locked-down browser is the usual reason a large WebAssembly build refuses to start.
- Stay on the page while it loadsA 380 MB transfer rewards patience: keep the tab open and let the cache finish before judging the project.
- Check input captureLike the other pieter.com arena projects, mouse capture is part of play. Learn the release control first.
Has Radiant Guide tested the gameplay?
No. We verified the engine statement, the download warning and the published instructions on October 13, 2026. A joined match, transfer speed and save behavior remain untested.
